role:
As a Design Director, you will lead a strong, cohesive team that creates innovative and delightful experiences across the Peerspace ecosystem. This is a highly impactful role reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer. Your team will be responsible for all product experiences and brand marketing creative for Peerspace, both on the guest and host sides of the marketplace. You will be a strong, empathetic leader who excels in design craft and inspires and elevates the work of your team, while also deeply understanding our business and motivated to grow and expand. Your ability to balance creativity, team development, and business acumen will be critical to your success in this role.

● Mentor and inspire a talented and motivated team of designers. Foster an environment of continuous growth and development. Advocate for the team and maintain and nurture a strong design culture.
● Guide the effective discovery and timely, high-quality delivery of product UX, brand assets, and consistent journeys that delight the creative community Peerspace serves. Refine overarching design principles, tone, and creative direction to ensure consistent excellence.
● We work with senior management to evolve the long-term company vision and strategy, and through innovative storyboards we envision and bring to life an ambitious yet achievable future that people want to be a part of.
● Partner with product and engineering leaders to ensure cross-functional product teams are empowered and executing smoothly against the biggest opportunities. Streamline processes to improve speed and efficiency.
● Partner with brand and marketing leaders to help shape the overarching brand vision. Identify and implement strategies to strengthen alignment with the brand playbook to ensure the Peerspace brand is seamlessly and consistently represented across all touchpoints.
● It promotes systems thinking and reusable components, building a solid foundation for faster iteration, consistency, and scalability while striking the right balance between agility and rapid learning.
Who are you:
● 10+ years of design experience with at least 3 years of experience leading and growing a design team.
● A creative, entrepreneurial problem solver with a strong track record of building and delivering innovative, user-centered designs.
● A diverse portfolio of elegant solutions and visually appealing assets with expertise in responsive and native apps. Marketplace experience a plus.
● You’re analytical and data-driven, with the skills to leverage data to gather customer insights to inform design and product strategy.
● You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and can tell stories, inspire people, explain complex issues and summarize information succinctly.
● An organized and structured thinker who can keep track of multiple workstreams, prioritize and make trade-offs, and balance short-term needs with long-term strategic opportunities.
● A relationship builder who knows how to build strong cross-functional partnerships and make things happen.
● Inclusive, open-minded and self-aware. Passionate about continually learning and helping others learn too.
