Role purpose:

The Dillon Product Manager is responsible for supporting and driving the development of the Dillon product portfolio consisting of force measurement instruments such as dynamometers, force gauges and tensiometers. Reporting to the Dillon Segment Manager, the role is focused on driving innovation in machinery products in industrial manufacturing environments. The Dillon Product Manager will work with the marketing and engineering teams to help design product improvements and develop promotional materials based on market insights. The role will provide technical support to sales channels and end users through product demonstrations and virtual support. The Dillon Product Manager will evaluate and prioritize customer and market requirements and collaborate with internal stakeholders to bring new solutions that win in the market. Understanding customer applications is essential to realizing and delivering ideal machinery solutions.

Expectation:

This position requires mechanical, electronics, or software troubleshooting abilities. This position requires a highly motivated individual with a focus on resolving quality issues, reactive troubleshooting, and project management. Excellent communication skills are required to gather insights and provide support to sales channels and internal stakeholders. Product Managers contribute an analytical perspective to the creation of technical resources and marketing materials for both existing and new products.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

  • Stay current on industry/market trends and regulatory requirements for Dillon’s applications
  • Stay on top of competitive and market conditions to understand customer alternative solutions and Dillon’s relative positioning
  • Engages with end users and channel partners to understand, articulate and leverage customer applications and value to drive the creation of differentiated products.
  • Support the design and development of new products within the Dillon product portfolio.
  • Perform product testing, relevant experimental data collection and data analysis to support product upgrades and new product development.
  • Clearly articulate Dillon’s value proposition and product features and train sales and support teams as needed, including collaborating in the development of sales tools and marketing materials.
  • Provide product training and technical support to your internal teams, sales channels and end users
  • Work with Dillon’s direct sales team to assist with trade show participation
  • Help explore the potential feasibility of new applications using Dillon’s product portfolio
  • Log incoming communications and activities related to technical support to facilitate improvements to our products, processes, and related materials.

Qualifications

Eligibility:

  • Associate’s degree and/or equivalent ITW experience
  • 2+ years of experience in product management, product development, technical support, engineering, or marketing
  • Must be proactive and demonstrate a high level of initiative
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to demonstrate products and effectively translate features into value
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, remain calm in stressful situations, and adjust plans to meet changing needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to lead basic technical training seminars
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with distribution channels, business units and inside sales teams.
  • Possess or be able to obtain a valid passport for international travel
