ThinkWell is seeking a Senior Communications Advisor to lead communications for ThinkWell’s Strategic Purchasing for Primary Healthcare (SP4PHC) project. The Advisor will support technical staff in Indonesia, Pakistan, Kenya, Burkina Faso, and the global team to shape, capture, and leverage project learnings to influence strategic purchasing conversations. The Advisor has extensive expertise in communications and marketing around health issues, technology, and evidence, as well as experience in communications strategy and project management. The Advisor will have strong writing, editing, and visualization skills and will promote ThinkWell’s products and content to various audiences through social media and website management, arranging and coordinating webinars, conference panels, and other events, and customizing messaging and channels to reach and influence ThinkWell’s audiences.

The Advisor will be a member of the Project Leadership Team, manage the Communications Manager and report to the SP4PHC Project Technical Director.

The Senior Communications Advisor has international and cross-cultural working experience and will provide direct support to national teams as well as distributed global teams. The Advisor position is fully remote and there is a strong preference for someone based in Africa or Asia.

responsibility

— Lead the development and execution of the SP4PHC communications strategy.

— Support SP4PHC leadership to effectively communicate ThinkWell’s SP4PHC strategy, progress and learnings to diverse audiences, including policy makers and development partners.

— Help SP4PHC project staff tailor deliverables and activities to their target audiences

— Plan, update, write and edit SP4PHC content and copy (press releases, blogs, newsletters).

— Lead the copywriting, editing, design and distribution of communications materials (briefs, brochures, one-pagers, blogs, editorials, direct mail campaigns, press releases, etc.).

— Manage the SP4PHC website and ensure it is up to date with products and the latest news.

— Promote products on social networking platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn through planning, curating, and creating content.

— Collect and analyze website and social media metrics to derive insights and optimize audience engagement.

— Develop and maintain an editorial calendar and product tracker.

— Work with project team to manage external event activities and communication plans, including conference events.

— Ensure all project products comply with ThinkWell style guides, project branding and templates.

— Coordinate with outside editors and vendors (e.g., graphic designers) as needed.

— Support project knowledge management needs as requested.

— Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Your Qualifications

1. Master’s degree in a related field and 8 years of related work experience

2. Experience in health system reform in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) is required.

3. Experience in developing and implementing communication strategies targeting academics and policy makers is required.

4. An established track record of creating engaging, high-quality communications content (newsletters, blogs, press releases, etc.)

5. Ability to translate technical information and data into easy-to-understand language

6. Advanced capabilities in communications systems, platforms and analytics

7. Excellent writing, editing and communication skills

8. You are technically savvy and skilled at visualizing data

9. Extensive social media expertise

10. Fluent in English, second language a plus

11. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to respectfully interact with staff of all levels, ages, genders, nationalities and orientations, and across work boundaries.
