Job Description Job Description Specializes as a Medical Assistant. General purpose: Responsible for completing various medical/administrative -related tasks in support of the medical provider. Responsibilities: Assisted with direct patient care procedures and related tasks; checked in patients; assisted in obtaining patient histories; took vital signs; prepared charts; and assisted with medical examinations. Maintains stocks of medical supplies as necessary in the exam rooms. Interview patients and record information, including a week of pregnancy, if applicable, and document on patients’ charts. Educates and advises patients on specified medical issues within established parameters. Practices safety, environmental, and infection control methods. Performs standing orders as approved by the department, policy, and procedures. Prepares treatment rooms for the examination of patients. Works and completes tasks in the electronic medical record system promptly. Translate when necessary. REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma or equivalent. Medical assistant certificate or training. BLS/CPR Certification. 0-3 years of experience in a related field. Bilingual preferred (Spanish/Creole).
