You’ll be contributing on multiple fronts, including design, implementation, cross-team collaboration, and team leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Expertise
- Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and resilient AWS and GCP infrastructure
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring high availability and performance of applications and services
- Implement automation (wherever possible) and ensure rapid and secure code deployments
- Observability and Production Support
- Implement logging, tracing and metrics to provide visibility into application performance and platform stability
- Implement incident and change management processes to support and deliver exceptional customer service (internal and external)
- Design and roll out identity and entitlement solutions to manage our production environment
- Collaboration & Communication
- Act as a liaison between DevOps and other teams (both technical and non-technical), ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and project execution
- Develop runbooks, a knowledge base, and best practices for DevOps
- Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor and support a small team of DevOps engineers, providing technical guidance and career development support
- Ensure team adherence to best practices in DevOps methodologies, including infrastructure as code and CI/CD automation
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a DevOps team lead or manager, with a strong focus on cloud platforms
- Ideally, 10 – 12+ years of experience maintaining production environments (if you have less than this, but still have meaningful DevOps leadership experience, we would still encourage you to apply!)
- Extensive hands-on experience in DevOps tools and technologies, including Kubernetes, Jenkins, Terraform, and Ansible.
- Hands on experience with AWS services, including IAM, SSO, EC2, EKS, IoT, Lambda, and RDS
- Operational experience with GitHub Actions, SAST/DAST tools, and monitoring tools like Datadog, SumoLogic, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, or Cloudwatch
- Hands on experience with automation and scripting with Python, Shell, Go, or JavaScript
- Experience with RDS operations including authentication and authorization
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
Great to have, but not required:
- AWS certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements (e.g., pen testing in cloud environments, etc.)
