Group/Division With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA’s Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The Surfscan group includes a team of engineers, technology development, apps engineers and product marketing focused on technology that enables wafer, IC and equipment manufacturers to develop, qualify and monitor their process tools. Defects and process non-uniformities detected on Surfscan equipment allow for early identification of yield excursions. The flagship Surfscan products include the SPx platforms for wafer surface quality and wafer defect inspection tools and systems for inspection of polished wafers, epi wafers and engineered substrates during the wafer fabrication process. Job Description/Preferred Qualifications The KLA Surfscan electrical engineering team is looking for a talented electrical design engineer to join our team and contribute to the area of electrical design focusing on FPGA and PCB design and integration. An ideal candidate would be a highly motivated individual who can work on projects from requirement, concept, design, implementation to bench and system-level test and troubleshooting to prove the concepts and solutions. The successful candidate will interact and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to work on projects that includes PCB design, FPGA/DSP design, cameras data acquisition, and system control, etc. Qualifications Solid knowledge of electrical engineering principles, analog and digital mixed signal electronics design both at the theoretical and implementation level. Experience with FPGA/Microprocessor firmware development and related high speed digital circuitry design. Experience with Xilinx/Altera FPGA design using Verilog/VHDL, FPGA simulation and implementation. Solid understanding of timing analysis and constraints at the PCB/FPGA interface. Hardware and firmware integration, debug, and system test experience with prototype PCB assemblies. Familiar with design tools such as OrCAD, Xilinx Vivado/ISE, Altera Quartus, Synplify synthesis, Questa/ModelSim, Python, MATLAB. Experience on PCB board design and test a plus. Strong problem analysis and solving capability on complex semiconductor equipment systems Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Show sense of urgency and purpose in completing the assigned tasks.
