Job Description

Job Title: Nursing Manager Job Functions: Under the direction of the Executive Director and the Medical Director, the Director of Nursing Manages and oversees all aspects of the facility medical department. Examples of duties include, but are not limited to: Supervise all medical providers and nursing staff to ensure that all medical documentation and medical care requirements are met pursuant to regulatory standards and practice and is in compliance with all licensing and credentialing regulations and standards including CILA and JACO requirements. Regular inspection of medical charts both open and closed to ensure compliance with quality assurance, quality improvement, policies and procedures, as well as all other regulatory funding, clinical and medical standards. Supervise, monitor, and document staff delivery of all medical services, collaborate with Director of Admissions to create processes and procedures to maximize conversion opportunities and to deliver exceptional customer service, including weekly conference calls and quarterly F2F meetings. Graduate degree in business, healthcare operations/management or in clinical/medical disciplines. 5 years of relevant experience in behavioral healthcare service delivery, as well as nursing components and addiction components of detox processes CIWA and COWS. Candidate must be a dynamic, self-motivated person with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills. Candidate must possess the ability to coach, mentor, and provide quality feedback to those he/she manages, with demonstrated ability to effectively lead in a changing environment. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with various levels of management within the Desert Winds Recovery organization as well as with external stakeholders. Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, shift changes. Ability to interact effectively as either a leader or as a member of a team and work collaboratively with others. Ability to manage multiple tasks and successfully meet deadlines. Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret human service periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and analyze policies and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Electronic Health Records; Internet software; Payroll systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
