Adverum is seeking a People Operations Coordinator to join our team in our Redwood City office. The Coordinator will support and gain exposure to a variety of People Programs, including our Onboarding process, Rewards and engagement programs, and Employee Communications. Using their excellent administrative and IT skills, the Coordinator will help the People Team function efficiently and seamlessly.

The People Ops Coordinator will have amazing organizational and time management skills and be extremely detail-oriented. They will also be able to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

This is a contract-to-hire position.

What you’ll do:

  • Own new hire onboarding activities, including maintaining employee personnel files, initiating and reviewing background checks, adding new hires through the HR portals, and completing I-9s, all while ensuring compliance with processes and policies and checklists/SOPs
  • Coordinate high volumes of new hire onboarding in an accurate and high-speed manner including coordinating with cross-functional teams for on boarding scheduling
  •  Assist with updating HR portals and employee files with new employee information, updated information or termed employee information.
  • Keep HR trackers up to date, such as Rewards and Onboarding trackers
  • Maintain the HR@adverum Inbox, responding or forwarding appropriately, in a timely manner. Be the front-line face for daily employee service in answering employee inquiries and resolving employee questions
  • Assist with scheduling meetings, HR events and maintain agendas.
  • Partner with Facilities for on-site support, food program, events
  • Support People/HR Programs with:
  • Process Spot Awards recognition requests
  • Assist with payroll and adhoc HR projects.
  • Provide HR communications support, including 5@5, emails, company intranet
  • Contribute to employee engagement initiatives, like happy hours, employee gifting, swag ordering and delivery
  • Perform other assignments and tasks as requested by Associate Director, People Operations

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree + 2-5 years of experience as an HR Coordinator or Admin
  • A great communicator and a resourceful problem solver.
  • Responsible and positive work attitude with the ability to deal with challenging tasks.
  • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
  • Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office and related business and communication tools.
  • Fantastic organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work independently but know when to ask for help
  • Basic knowledge of HR compliance regulations is a plus
  • The contract hourly range for this position is $35/hr USD to $40/hr USD .
