Job Description
The Quality Control Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily quality assurance activities of the plant as well as conducting quality testing, inspection checks, and communicating test results to the Quality Supervisor. This position supports ISO, HARA, and BRCGS requirements, continuous improvement activities, quality incident investigations and data collection, review and analysis.
Essential Functions/Key Deliverables
- Assist with the HFI process to include documentation, production accounting, disposition, rework activities, AQL or sampling
- Monitor quality systems to ensure checks are being completed
- Take measurements and samples according to the control/sampling plan (e.g., lacquer weights and distribution, visual can inspection, bar code and QR code inspection, abrasion testing, mobility testing, etc.)
- Provide training/assistance for new joiners or doubts from quality technician.
- Assist the quality supervisor on the daily duties
- Conduct tests using high-tech measurement equipment (Torus, Versatile, Sencon) and interface with quality control reporting system
- Monitor and test critical control points (CCPs)
- Monitor the quality of products on the line and at specific production stages and provide support and feedback to production team members
- Provide final approval for finished goods
- Provide label setup approvals
- Contain out-of-spec finished goods per containment guidelines and report to Quality Supervisor
- Create and analyze quality reports as needed
- Communicate quality status updates to all team members
- Collaborate with all plant teams and cross-functional areas to ensure the highest quality standards are met
- Perform any other duty reasonably corresponding with the role
Knowledge/Skills/Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Quality role preferred
- Experience in a food or beverage packaging or manufacturing environment is a plus
- Proven ability to effectively utilize Quality systems and conduct related analysis and reporting
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- High attention to detail
- Ability to communicate with and influence others
- Ability drive for root cause identification and corrective actions
- Ability to run reports and analyze data
- Familiarity with basic and sophisticated measurement devices
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products
- Must be results oriented with the ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment, and a desire to WIN
