The Senior Financial Analyst position within the Financial Planning & Analysis group will be member of the consolidation team. This role supports both legal entity and Strategic Business Unit (SBU) consolidated views of forecasting, reporting, capital planning, RWA analysis, as well as SBU investor and shareholder reporting and Board reporting.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Preparation of the quarterly SBU financial reports, Board reports and analyses for Investor relations

  • Provide insightful analysis that identifies the business drivers during the quarter and “tells the story” of the financials

  • Collaborate with the broader team to produce depth analysis of expenses. Become the expense SME of the team

Forecasting and Planning

  • Monitor on-going business activities for considerations that could result in potential impact to planning & forecasting deliverables, and where applicable communicate these changes to the VP, Financial Planning & Analysis, US Region

  • Prepare executive level presentations summarizing SBU forecasts with targeted financial information, interpretation and analysis to the CFO, US Region

  • Own certain top of the house forecasting activities

  • Develop relationships within the global finance team to gather and understand inputs into the forecast.

Ad Hoc Analysis

  • The first six months of the role will include active engagement in the Finance Modernization program specific to the US FP&A group.

  • Assist in ad hoc requests from various stakeholders including but not limited to senior finance managers, Investor Relations, Corporate Treasury, Risk functions, etc.

Knowledge & Skills

  • MS Excel (lookups, pivot tables and data manipulation)

  • Prepare executive level PowerPoint presentations to “tell the story” of the financials and the business

  • Essbase experience required; experience with business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView is a plus, though not required

  • Understand banking basics, understand a Bank’s balance sheet and P&L

  • The candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently

  • 8+ years of experience, including Financial Planning or Financial Reporting, preferably in banking industry

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple requests, frequently working under tight time constraints

  • Hybrid work schedule with a minimum of 3 days in the office

  • Due to the nature of financial reporting, during quarter end reporting cycles, occasional weekend work may be required. Employees receive floating vacation days when weekend work is conducted. Candidates need to be comfortable with such an arrangement.
