Earn with Words: The Season 1 Guide to Streaks, Packs and Coins

Earn with Words: Dial Edition is EarnHire's word game: one timed session on a board of spinning dial columns, three puzzle modes that take turns, gold bonus letters that flash for a moment, and a graded summary when the clock runs out. It is built for the ten minutes between applications, and signed-in play counts toward your earnings. This guide covers the board, the three modes, the stats, the grade, and how to score well.

The board

The board is a row of uneven rounded columns, like the reels of a slot machine. Each column holds a stack of letters. Between puzzles the reels spin and new letters land. Letters are tapped in order to spell a word, and the word you are building shows above the board.

  • Undo and Clear take letters back.
  • The gold dial is a special column in Word Lock that you spin with its arrows.
  • Bonus letters appear in the gaps between columns: gold outline, soft glow, gone in about two seconds. Tap one and it joins the word you are spelling and pays extra. They come less often, and vanish faster, as the difficulty climbs.

A session

Pick a length, ten, fifteen or twenty minutes, and press Start. Puzzles flow one after another until the timer ends. The timer pauses if you switch tabs. When the clock runs out, the summary card appears. If an ad is available you can add five minutes near the end; that is optional.

The three modes

Word Reactor (streak). A clue and a letter count. The columns hold the word's letters plus distractors. Tap the letters in order. Two tries. The streak counter climbs with every solve and resets on a miss.

Word Lock (speed). Two to four clues and "Words to find". The words run left to right across neighboring columns, but one column, the gold dial, starts turned so the words don't line up. Spin it until they do, then tap each word across the board. Drawn words lock in green. Paths can't cross a locked word, so plan the order. Finish under par for extra points.

Word Builder (improvement). A stack of mixed letters. Build any real English word of at least the minimum length, then Submit. Longer words pay more. Halfway through, one reel shifts by a couple of letters and you adapt. Build the required number of words to finish the puzzle.

Modes come in clusters. At low difficulty you get three of the same mode in a row. Higher up they rotate faster and, at the top, in a random order with Lock and Reactor appearing most.

Difficulty meets you where you are

There are no fixed levels. The difficulty is a dial of its own: it rises when you are fast and accurate and keep a streak, and it eases when you slow down or miss. Faster solves under par push it up. Two misses on a puzzle pull it down. The background shifts color as it climbs: cool at easy, warm at expert.

Coins, stats and earnings

Points and coins are the same number. Every solve, every word built and every bonus letter adds coins, and the coins float up from the board as they land. During play you see:

  • Coins for the session.
  • Streak, your solves in a row.
  • Speed, a rolling score out of 100 against par.
  • Improvement, how your pace compares with your last session.
  • Earnings progress, a bar toward today's milestone.

Earnings land in your balance as you play, up to the daily maximum of $5, and pay out as a gift card through EarnHire the same day once your balance clears the minimum. Anything beyond the daily maximum goes to pending. Guests can play every mode; only signed-in sessions count.

The summary and the grade

The summary card shows total coins, earnings progress, three scores out of 100 (Speed, Streak and Improvement), season progress, and one letter grade for the session: A, B, C or D. Nothing lower than D is ever shown. Beat your best session of the day and the board shimmers, a Daily high score banner appears, and a small bonus lands.

Tips

  • Read the letter count. In Reactor and Lock the count rules out most guesses.
  • Spin before you draw. In Word Lock, nothing locks until the dial is aligned. Count the offset from a word you can see.
  • Lock the long words first. Paths can't cross, and long words need the most room.
  • Save the bonus letter for a word. A bonus letter used inside a completed word pays double.
  • Short words are fine in Builder. Three or four clean words beat one long miss.
  • Play signed in. Your sessions, coins and grades are saved to your account, and your play counts toward earnings.
