- A stated pay range. More employers now post pay up front. A remote role with no pay, vague duties, and a giant "apply now" button is often a lead trap.
- A specific team and title. "Customer Success Manager, SMB" is a real seat. "Work from home, flexible hours, immediate start" with no company name is not.
- A normal application. One form, maybe a short questionnaire. If step one asks for your bank login, a fee, or gift cards, it is a scam. No real employer does that.
Where the genuinely-hiring remote roles are
Software, data, and IT support have the most true remote seats. Sales, customer success, and account management hire remotely at scale because the work is already phone and screen. Design, writing, and marketing hire on portfolios. Finance, bookkeeping, and healthcare-adjacent roles like telehealth and medical coding moved home and stayed.
Apply so you actually hear back
Search by the exact title you want with "remote" added, not the generic phrase "remote jobs," which is the most spam-flooded search there is. Apply in the first day or two while a listing is fresh. Then match the top third of your resume to the language in the posting, because that is what gets you past the first filter.
