The Escapist is looking for new and experienced writers to help create news articles for the site about YouTube/YouTubers and streaming/streamers. This is a fully remote contract position.
The Escapist is a website dedicated to mature discussion about media, so we’re looking for great people who love media and want to write about it. Currently, we aim to enrich our news coverage of what’s happening on platforms like YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, and more.
Only complete applications accompanied by two writing samples will be considered. Please do not submit these as writing samples as this is not a video-based or creative writing position.
Requirements:
- Excellent English writing skills.
- Willingness to learn and incorporate feedback.
- You should be a self-starter who can complete your work in a timely manner and suggest trending ideas.
- Deep knowledge of streaming and streaming culture.
Recommendation:

- Experience in SEO writing.
- Familiarity with social media platforms such as TikTok, X, and Facebook.
