Role Overview:

PolicyMe is looking to expand into new insurance product lines and additional markets. To support this growth, we are looking for an motivated Product Manager to join our strong product team.

  • As a Product Manager, you will support the development of new insurance products from pre-launch to post-launch as well as enhancing existing products. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make significant project contributions and learn from senior team members. In your day-to-day work, you will:
  • Support our product vision and roadmap: Articulate the strategic goals for our products and support the roadmap to get there. Communicate the roadmap and progress against goals to all key stakeholders (Customer Success, Engineering, Growth, etc.).
  • Understand your customers: Gain a deeper understanding of your customers by assisting with customer interviews, analysing performance data, helping set up mechanisms for collecting feedback, and understanding customer personas.
  • Support the development of the backlog: You will collaborate with stakeholders across PolicyMe to generate ideas and help manage the backlog of new builds to meet customer needs, improve back-end integrity, innovate and ultimately deliver on the defined vision.
  • It helps you prioritize your efforts: Helps determine what engineers spend their time on and in what order. Supports the development and execution of disciplined processes, helping prioritize new features, product optimizations, bugs, and maintenance activities.
  • Define what each feature looks like. You’ll work with designers for wireframes, engineers for technical details, and customer success members for customer insights. You’ll help create the specifications for what’s needed to build and release new features. You’ll identify which aspects of the build are part of the MVP and which aspects can be added in future iterations.
  • Help build your team: Assist as a point of support for all functions to ensure new builds are completed on time and to specification.
  • Launch Coordination: Work with product teams to ensure new releases are thoroughly tested and ready for release.
  • What we’re looking for:

  • Strong documentation skills: Ability to write clear, concise and well-informed product specifications/requirements.
  • Good collaboration skills: You have high emotional intelligence and can be the “bond” between various parties within the organization.
  • Ability to structure ambiguous problems: You have the ability to structure ambiguous problems, starting with an idea and managing it from concept to deployment.
  • Proven experience leading in: You are comfortable bringing people together and managing projects that involve many moving parts, you have a sense of ownership and are passionate about seeing a project through from start to finish.
  • Powerful communication: Knows how to adjust communication style for different audiences Knows when to lead the conversation as well as when to listen Knows how to set expectations with different stakeholders and when to ask for their help Able to take complex topics and explain them clearly and concisely.
  • A clear sense of prioritization: We understand how to prioritize different builds, how to define a true part of an MVP, and optimize developer productivity, and we also understand how to balance agile market feedback and customer expectations of your product.
  • Curiosity and familiarity with technical topics: No technical background required, but you have a natural curiosity about how everything works, know when to ask clarifying questions, and aren’t afraid to dive into complex topics.
  • Related product experience: 3-5 years of experience in product management, product marketing and/or strategy, preferably in the consumer technology space. Proven track record of leading projects and delivering measurable results.
  • Report to: Senior Product Manager
