overview: We are seeking a meticulous Quality Assurance Engineer with strong automation testing skills and experience testing applications developed in PHP. The ideal candidate should have the ability to build robust automated tests using Playwright or a similar framework. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through a comprehensive testing methodology and automation strategy.

- Collaborate with product managers, developers and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and define testing strategy.
- Design detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases based on functional specifications and user stories.
- Developed and managed automated test scripts using Playwright to verify functionality, performance and reliability of web applications developed in PHP.
- Implement automated regression testing to ensure the ongoing stability of software releases.
- Perform manual testing where necessary, especially for scenarios that are difficult to automate or that require exploratory testing.
- We conduct thorough regression testing before each release to identify and report any issues.
- Use a bug tracking tool (e.g. JIRA) to identify, document, and track bugs to resolution.
- We work closely with developers to investigate issues, validate fixes, and resolve reported issues in a timely manner.
- Actively participates in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups and retrospectives.
- Recommend improvements to testing processes, tools, and methodologies to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Create and manage detailed test documentation including test plans, test cases, test data, and test results.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to accept and absorb feedback, demonstrate self-reflection, and have a growth mindset with an eye toward continuous development and lifelong learning.
- Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer or similar role with a focus on automation testing.
- Familiarity with automated testing using Playwright or similar tools (e.g. Puppeteer, Selenium).
- Experience in testing web applications developed in PHP and understanding of PHP frameworks such as Laravel and Cake will be an advantage.
- Solid understanding of Software QA methodologies, tools and processes.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices.
- You have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, along with great attention to detail.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with performance and security testing methodologies and tools.
- Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
- Understanding of front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Software testing certification (e.g. ISTQB) would be an advantage.
