About the role:

We are seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer who is a highly motivated individual contributor with a strong background in both analytics and data engineering. Your strong passion for uncovering insights through data and leveraging analytics to solve complex problems will drive continuous improvement as we continue to grow the most powerful B2B marketplace for surplus inventory.

We are an early stage startup with incredible traction and growing rapidly. Our team has a lot of growth potential and direct influence to shape Ghost’s future.

This role is suitable for remote work and is headquartered in Los Angeles, California with an office in New York City.

about you:

  • Providing data-driven insights: 5+ years of experience in understanding business objectives and applying advanced analytics and data engineering techniques to develop and implement innovative solutions to address complex problems. You will work with cross-functional teams to design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines and analytics platforms to help customers with actionable insights.
  • Technology Leadership: Act as a technical leader in the analytics space and demonstrate familiarity with modern data tools and technologies (SQL, Python, BI tools, etc.) Promote a culture of learning and excellence through code reviews, design discussions, and leading technical conversations with leadership.
  • Research and Development: You’ll stay one step ahead in analytics, exploring new data technologies and methodologies to enhance our analytics capabilities. The field is changing rapidly and we’re looking for someone who is open to adopting new tools such as AI to make the process of data analytics increasingly self-service. You’ll be proactive in sharing your knowledge and insights with the team to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Implementing advanced analytics: Develop and maintain robust data models, analytical frameworks and custom analytical solutions to solve business problems. Leverage data to create business intelligence reports and dashboards optimized for strategic decision making.
  • Best practices: Promote engineering and analytical best practices including data quality, data governance, testing, performance tuning, etc. Enforce rigorous code reviews and promote good architecture.
  • Communication between teams: Effectively communicate technical concepts and insights to non-technical teams. Mentor and support the development of junior engineers, promoting a culture of learning and growth.

Total compensation for this position will range from $150,000 to $190,000. Actual amount may vary based on factors such as experience, knowledge, skills and abilities related to the position.
