We are seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Design Systems Designer. In this role, you will contribute to enhancing and extending the Alpaca Design System, ensuring it remains a highly polished, easy to use, and highly effective tool for our designers and engineers. The Experience Design organization helps our customers by creating and delivering efficient consumer experiences through our Trust Management Platform. We aim to earn our customers’ trust and contribute to a safer Internet. We help Vanta grow as a business by delivering valuable solutions. Our role is critical to the strategic direction of the company and will have a significant impact on product development.
This role will report to the Senior Design Manager, Design Systems, within the Experience Design organization.
As a Senior Design Systems Designer at Vanta, you’ll:

Enhance and extend the Alpaca design system to meet the evolving needs of the Vanta platform.

Create and maintain high-quality design components with Figma.

Ensure all design components are easy to use and properly documented.

Work with cross-functional teams to ensure design system additions are properly integrated.

Maintain high standards of design quality and consistency across all components.

Create comprehensive documentation for your design components, including usage guidelines.

Review and test new components to ensure seamless integration and functionality.

Promote inclusive and accessible design practices.

Communicate effectively with engineers and other stakeholders regarding design implementation details.

Mentor and mentor other designers in using and contributing to the design system.
Qualifications

3+ years of experience designing and managing design systems for SaaS or complex digital environments.

Over 6 years of experience in product design.

A strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in design systems, UI/UX design, systems thinking, and advanced visual techniques.

Proven experience in creating inclusive and accessible design solutions.

Expertise in Figma including Auto Layout, Properties and Variables.

A basic understanding of HTML/CSS and responsive design principles.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

Experience in developing comprehensive documentation for design components.

Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor other designers.

To provide transparency to candidates, we publish base salary ranges for all US-based jobs, regardless of state. We set standard base salary ranges for all positions based on function, level, and country, benchmarking against companies at a similar stage of growth. The final offer is determined by multiple factors, including the candidate’s location, skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses/certifications, and may vary from the amounts listed below. The salary or OTE range for this position is $167,000 – $196,000. This position may also be eligible for commissions/bonuses, stock, medical benefits, 401(k) plan, and other company benefit programs.
