About Audience Development Strategist

Optimism is looking for a versatile Audience Development Strategist to help guide the strategic vision for the growth of our audience on both email and web. This role will focus on building, testing, and optimizing lead acquisition channels and partnerships in order to extend Optimism’s reach. The ideal candidate is comfortable using analytics at every phase.

Accountabilities

  • Planning, executing, and managing audience and traffic acquisition strategies and partnerships.
  • Negotiating contracts with lead and data partners
  • Managing and reporting the ROI of lead acquisition channels
  • Exploring new distribution platforms to extend Optimism’s reach via third-party platforms, social partnerships, etc. 
  • Collaborating with Sales to identify viable segments and expand available inventory for campaigns

Qualifications

  • Are an experienced audience development strategist with experience growing the reach of media companies and their portfolio of brands.
  • Understand traditional audience development channels, and can analyze which channels make the most sense for brands and their intended audiences.
  • Use analytics and statistics to build iterative action plans with a keen sense of process.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Can see a problem from multiple perspectives.
  • Are comfortable using and pulling reporting from analytics platforms.
  • Are able to transform and run analyses on data using Excel, Google Sheets, etc., and provide insights or recommend actions based on the results.
  • Can successfully design, run, and interpret an A/B test.
  • Understand when to use empirical vs analytical data
