Job Description Job Description Job Title: CNC Service Engineer Hours: Full Time, Core Business Hours Classification: Non-Exempt Travel Requirement: 50% or more Job Overview: The Service Engineer is responsible for providing on-site and remote support to customers by installing, maintaining, and repairing CNC machine tools. The role requires technical expertise in troubleshooting and maintaining various machine controls and a strong focus on customer service. Key Responsibilities: Perform installation, maintenance, and repairs on CNC machine tools. Create and update technical documentation. Generate reports related to service activities. Collaborate with customers’ service engineers, offering assistance and training on newer product lines. Build and maintain strong communication and customer service relationships. Manage challenging customer situations with professionalism and respond promptly to their needs. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Associate degree in a technical field is preferred. 3-5 years of experience in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and CNC machine maintenance. Experience with CNC machines (DMG, MORI SEIKI, Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Siemens) is a plus. Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer service orientation. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and PLC ladder diagrams. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Adaptability to changes and the ability to manage competing demands and unexpected events. Willingness to travel up to 50% within a multi-state region, with the ability to fly or drive as necessary. When not traveling, the engineer will work at the Technical Center. Work Environment: The role involves exposure to manufacturing environments, with potential hazards such as noise, electricity, chemicals, and heavy machinery. Some work will be performed in a general office setting. Physical Demands: Frequent travel, vehicle operation, and physical activity including sitting, standing, walking, bending, and lifting. Periodic operation of power equipment and computer work. Occasional lifting or moving of objects up to 50 lbs.
