Director, Accounting- SEC Reporting
Overview:
The SEC Reporting Lead will partner closely across the Controllers organization, Global Finance and beyond to ensure the delivery of high quality public disclosures. The Lead will manage a dynamic team of associates that is responsible for executing critical quarterly processes and providing strategic guidance on public disclosures. The Lead will also be responsible for managing other external reports, such as statutory reporting on standalone subsidiaries. A key element of success will be reimagining processes to improve accuracy and efficiency. Our team works with a customer service mindset and the Lead should prioritize helping others and building positive team experiences.
Responsibilities:

  • Oversee our SEC Reporting filing process ensuring high quality work while managing tight deadlines
  • Work across the organization to collaborate on disclosures and gain a deep understanding of the areas most important to our financial disclosures, including our Investor Relations team, Financial Planning and Analysis, Capital Markets, and others
  • Lead a team of high performing associates in an inspiring and empowering way
  • Develop team vision to improve and automate processes. Prioritize tasks and iterate on team structure to offer opportunities for talent development
  • Leverage accounting rules, peer reviews and past results to make sound decisions
  • Manage our third-party SEC filing platform for the Enterprise and in collaboration with Tech and Product
  • Support management of our third-party audit firm
  • Deliver internal audit reviews and SOX compliance
  • Supervise and coordinate work assignments amongst direct reports and the broader team
  • Provide timely feedback to team

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
  • At least 10 years of accounting experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in Public Accounting, SEC Reporting, Accounting Policy, or a combination

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of accounting experience
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification
  • Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) or other advanced degree
  • 10+ years of experience in Public Accounting
  • 5+ years experience in SEC Reporting or Accounting Policy at a publicly traded company
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
