About the Role
The Director, Purchasing Business Office is a multifaceted yet crucial role within our organization, responsible for the advancement of our purchasing systems/processes, creating structural transparency and accountability using KPIs (financial and operational), identifying risks and impacts within the supply chain, and ensuring compliance to processes and controls. This individual will lead a team that has direct responsibility for purchasing systems/processes team, purchasing financial controlling, supplier risk and sustainability compliance, export compliance, and overall process conformance and audits. Qualified candidates must be a self-starter with demonstrated comfort in being a cross-functional change catalyst.
Your Responsibilities
Purchasing Systems/Processes

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive purchasing system and process advancement strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Identify opportunities for system and process improvements/enhancements to drive efficiency and cost savings.
  • Define and monitor key performance metrics and process compliance, conducting regular audits to assess process efficacy.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in the planning, execution, and delivery of purchasing system transformation projects.

Purchasing Financial Controlling

  • Work with internal partners to establish metrics and KPIs to monitor the performance and effectiveness of purchasing systems and processes.
  • Increase the analytical capability and data driven decision making in purchasing, logistics and supply chain.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and strategic planning processes and the monthly forecasting/actuals process for the consolidated purchasing/supply chain function.

Supplier Risk/Compliance/Sustainability

  • Lead a team of supply risk management/sustainability professionals and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Identify and assess supply chain risks, including supplier sustainability, commercial, financial, and geopolitical risks.
  • Conduct analysis of sustainability requirements/trends country and customer and incorporate this into the purchasing strategy and supplier expectations.

Export Compliance

  • Support the customs and export control governance efforts and ensure that all entities are fully compliant with trade compliance regulations.
  • Serve as a consultant and provide necessary services to other departments concerning customs and export control issues.
  • Support and conduct risk assessments to identify compliance concerns and coordinate with appropriate strategic partners to achieve resolutions.
  • Provide regular reporting on such requirements as USMCA, EU Reach with corrective actions as necessary.

What we are looking for

  • At least 10 years of experience combining supply chain/purchasing skills to drive strategic initiatives focused on process creation, standardization, and improvement, demonstrating a strong ability to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and trends impacting Purchasing and Supply Chain
  • Solid knowledge of global supply chain risk management strategies, policies & procedures.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of effectively articulating ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and leading cross-functional teams towards common goals.
  • Demonstrated experience driving data driven and analytic decision making.
