Experienced Console Programmer
We’re looking for an engineer who’s an expert in console programming. Someone who knows from experience what the certification requirements are for various consoles and how to bring an Unreal project in line with them. Someone who can build the bridge between the goal we want to reach and the product that has to ship, with architecture that brings harmony between the game and the machine it runs on.
You love all the principles and techniques that studios use to boost game performance. You’re a mediator, mixing these cutting-edge techniques and well-known strategies to make an ideal solution of console optimization. Your understanding and communication of each platform’s needs will be instrumental in taking our games across the finish line.
Responsibilities:
- Implementing a variety of console-specific SDKs.
- Achieving certification on current generation consoles.
- Extensively modifying off-the-shelf engines, such as UE4.
- Assisting other disciplines in optimizing their work for consoles.
- Working within multi-threaded coding environments.
Required Experience:
- Has written console code on shipped games.
Required Skills:
- Can modify, extend, and optimize sophisticated code bases.
- Can architect, implement, and maintain a variety of complex core engine systems.
- Can remain up to date with modern industry innovations and apply them internally.
- Can work with multiple modern graphics APIs and shading languages.
- Has a comprehensive understanding of various CPU and GPU architectures.
- Can deploy profiling tools and interpret their results for other disciplines.
- Can write low level C++ code with an eye for optimization and performance.
- Is a self-motivated and proactive problem-solver.
- Loves working with others.
Salary Range:

Our salary ranges reflect experience level, but we will be transparent about where you fit and we will always hire equitably when hiring within the same experience level. We have two ranges for this role, experienced and highly experienced:
Experienced Programmer: $120,000-$165,000 per year
Highly Experienced Programmer: $165,000-$190,000 per year
