We are looking for an Expert Systems Engineer excited to ensure our AAA title runs performant across multiple platforms. Your responsibilities include helping develop and optimize systems that support all aspects of the game, such as cooking, streaming, and memory reporting. The Systems Engineer provides the building blocks that everything is built on top of and will play a pivotal role ensuring the success of That’s No Moon’s first title. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide production team with guidance for scheduling, while identifying and reducing risks. 
  • Collaborate with engineers and other disciplines to provide holistic solutions with an emphasis on performance and budgeting. 
  • Own medium-scale systems, driving them to meet the needs of those holistic solutions. 
  • Foster a highly collaborative, transparent culture that is safe, and values innovation, diversity, and work-life balance. 
  • Assist in hiring to build a world-class team. 
  • Give technical leadership and counsel, ranging from short-term problem solving to long-term roadmap planning. 
  • Architect, implement, and maintain production quality C/C++ for systems, features, tools, and workflows. 
  • Analyze different approaches to solve problems and discuss the tradeoffs between them. 
  • Write and maintain documentation related to features, tools, and workflows. 

Requirements & Skills: 

  • Unreal Engine experience 
  • Shipped at least one Unreal Engine AAA game or equivalent complexity 
  • Prior experience CPU profiling and optimizing 
  • Significant knowledge of C++ 
  • Strong math skills 
  • (Bonus) Experience GPU profiling 
  • (Bonus) Compiler experience 
  • (Bonus) Experience with multiple console platforms (examples: PlayStation, Xbox) 

Qualities: 

  • Excellent communication skills visually, verbally and written 
  • Work independently with minimal supervision 
  • Good conflict resolution abilities 
  • Enjoys getting their hands dirty in unknown code

TNM considers a number of factors when determining each role’s base pay range, including industry benchmarks, location, experience, and other job specific skills. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for other incentive compensation including equity and profit share. The estimated base pay range for this role is U.S. only and not applicable for locations outside of the U.S.

The estimated base pay range for this role is: $195,000 – $235,000
