MetOx International, Inc. is seeking a Manager Mechanical Engineering to join our dynamic team and play a vital role in reshaping the future of power generation and distribution. Based at our global headquarters in Houston, TX, the Manager Mechanical Engineering will be instrumental in overseeing the development of manufacturing equipment systems. With a focus on improving efficiency, throughput, and overall system performance, this role will apply advanced mechanical engineering expertise to lead innovation efforts. Key Responsibilities: Engineering Leadership: Leads the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems and components, ensuring adherence to specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Applies advanced engineering methodologies to solve complex problems, optimize designs, and drive innovations in mechanical systems. Oversees the production of detailed engineering documentation, including CAD designs, specifications, and technical reports. Leads the procurement and fabrication of custom parts, ensuring quality and timely delivery. Identifies and implements process improvements, cost-saving measures, and performance optimizations to advance operational excellence. Project Management: Owns and manages projects from concept through implementation, overseeing planning, scheduling, and resource allocation. Collaborates across departments to integrate solutions into manufacturing processes. Leads design reviews, provides actionable feedback, and ensures effective follow-up. Team Leadership: Provides leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth. Leads and inspires a high-performing engineering team, cultivating a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience Prior experience managing a Mechanical Engineering Team Prior experience in two or more of the following areas: vacuum conductance design, gas flow, heat transfer, radiation heat transfer and modeling, and CFD & FEA. Hands on experience building, testing and/or assembling engineering equipment. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Prior experience working with manufacturing start-ups. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Expertise in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and other engineering tools and simulations. In-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, standards, and best practices (including GD&T, DFM, Materials Selection). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. Proven leadership and team management capabilities. Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences. Ability to proactively identify project risks, provide solutions, and manage timelines.
