Job Description Job Description Busy doctor’s office and surgery center located near the Galleria area at San Felipe and Voss in Houston, TX is seeking a full-time medical assistant and scribe. Hours are Monday – Friday 7:45 am – 4:30 pm. We need someone who can type very fast to keep up with our doctors and is very professional and polite. You need great computer skills, as you will be on the computer all day long. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred. We are willing to train the right candidate Responsibilities: Using EMR (electronic medical record) software eClinicalWorks Staying in the exam room with the doctor and typing the progress note. You must type fast Working up patients by rooming patients, taking vital signs, obtaining medical histories, verifying medications and allergies, etc. Setting up for and assisting with procedures Sterilizing instruments and using autoclaves Requirements: Type at least 50 wpm or more Bilingual in Spanish preferred Completion of a Medical Assistant program is preferred Medical Assistant Certification preferred 2 years of experience as a medical assistant preferred What We Offer: Competitive compensation based on experience Benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off 401K plan About Us: Ophthalmic Plastic Surgeons of Texas is a 3 physician private practice with a cosmetic surgery center attached to the office.
