WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Design, develop, and execute a broad range of cell based functional and phenotypic in vitro assays to identify mechanisms of T cell activity and dysfunction under various environments.
- Work in teams as the immunology subject matter expert to drive the development, execution and interpretation of discovery research efforts to identify novel ways to enhance T-cell therapies
- Drive scientific and technical innovation collaboratively with other members of ArsenalBio
- Summarize and synthesize data across experiments and present findings at all levels of the organization
- Provide exceptional scientific leadership and mentorship to scientists and research associates
- Work collaboratively and proactively with colleagues in automation, computational biology, NGS and discovery in a matrixed team structure
WHO YOU ARE
- PhD in immunology, molecular or cellular biology or a related field with 7+ years of relevant experience, Masters with 12+ years experience, or Bachelors with 14+ years experience. Industry experience preferred but not required.
- Strong background in immunology and/or tumor-immune cell interactions, with a focus on T cell biology and direct experience with primary immune cell culture; prior experience with genetic engineering of primary immune cells
- Expertise in developing and executing in vitro cellular assays including immune cell phenotyping, cytotoxicity, proliferation and cytokine analysis
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills and the ability to organize and communicate complex data sets clearly and concisely to key stakeholders from diverse backgrounds
- Experience in leading and organizing a team of junior scientists and research associates
- Ability to multi-task and work in collaboration with peers within a fast-paced team environment with a positive outlook and high degree of self-motivation and organization
- Expertise in tumor microenvironment (TME) and/or cytokine signaling is preferred
- Strong competency with multi-color flow panel design and optimization is preferred
- Previous experience interpreting RNA-seq and/or high throughput screening data would be preferred

The estimated base salary for the preferred primary location of the San Francisco Bay area ranges from $169,000- $207,000. Salary ranges for other locations may vary. Base pay offered may vary based on job-related knowledge, experience, education, and location. Beyond these considerations, we are committed to pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current employees when making any final offers.
