About the Role The Case Specialist provides and coordinates an array of support services for clients in the Refugee Services program. This role will serve as a liaison between clients and the Community Engagement programs to ensure client success in attaining resources to achieve self-sufficiency. Main Responsibilities Provide language interpretation and translation (in language of proficiency) Work with the Community Engagement Program Manager, Refugee Health Promotion (RHP) Coordinator and the team on the Refugee Health Promotion program and activities. Conduct recruitment and intake interviews to obtain necessary case information for clients for the Refugee Health Promotion program and as needed. Analyze client needs and provide information to clients on the services available through Refugee Services according to ORR guidelines and eligibility requirements. Conduct home visits and assessments as needed with clients in the RHP program. Assist with case management and assistance as needed, ensuring all services are properly documented in client case files. Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records, including case notes, assessments, and required documentation for program compliance. Assist the Community Engagement Program with administrative tasks such as scheduling, filing, and maintaining program materials. Enter client information in Client Track and Refugee Services Databases. Assist with filing documentation in case files as needed. Work with Community Engagement Program Manager, RHP Coordinator, and the Women’s Empowerment Group (WEG) program team to organize and conduct weekly refugee Women’s Empowerment Groups, Men’s Support group, Refugee Youth programs, RefugeeCare Navigator App downloads, and workshops. Set up and supervise group communication networks (Whats App/Email/Group Texts) in a language of proficiency. Work with Community Engagement, RHP, and WEG, and Volunteer Services teams to coordinate volunteers involved in: Providing transportation to the women/men and their children to and from groups Providing advocacy for women/men based on situational needs. Providing childcare and age-appropriate craft activities at groups Providing one-on-one English conversational practice Working on additional Community Engagement programs/projects (for example: Robotics program) Assist families with children to enroll their kids in school. Complete paperwork documenting donations and deliveries. Provide mediation services between new arrivals and outside entities (i.e., neighbors, landlords, volunteers, service providers, etc.) Assistance with applications to services such as schools, transportation, public benefits, employment, and health services, ensuring the family has basic needs and housing, and follow-up as needed. Meet with clients to determine their need for items and communicate with them about deliveries. Attend RS and Community Engagement/WEG/Men’s Support group planning and information meetings. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications, Skills & Experience Associate’s degree; or two (2) years of related experience in lieu of college education At least one year of relevant experience in social services, including experience in refugee services and/or case management, is preferred. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Intermediate to advanced computer skills are required (including proficiency in Microsoft Office programs). Fluency in English is required. Fluency in one of the main refugee languages is preferred (with emphasis on Spanish, Dari, Pashto, Arabic, and Kiswahili). Must enjoy working with culturally and ethnically diverse staff, clients, and volunteers. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including some weekends.
