ROLE OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking a driven professional with an existing analytical background in the Seaware platform to join the Lindblad Seaware Analyst team. This role works closely with our business teams and IT. In this role, the Seaware Analyst will provide support to the Seaware end users and build business rules within Seaware to support Lindblad’s product.

This role will be responsible for the configuration and build, recommendation of improvements, and testing of the Seaware reservations platform to ensure that it meets the current and future needs and preferences of all business stakeholders. The position will capture requirements on gaps and improvements, planning, training, testing, and delivery of new functionality, in addition to the ongoing support and troubleshooting of the software.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop a complete understanding of the Lindblad business model and the uses of the Seaware platform.
  • Work on product build and configuration, taking in business requirements, developing business rules, and troubleshooting issues on a daily basis.
  • Manage backlog items and prioritization using Jira software to track delivery and testing of the items and to support communication and training of the deliverable to the business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with our Seaware users in the Call Center/Reservations, Guest Services, Operations, Expedition Development, Accounting, Sales, Marketing, and IT departments to determine the needs and gaps of the reservation platform.
  • Serve as primary subject matter expert (SME) on the reservations platform to provide suggestions to end users on optimal use and configuration of the various application modules.
  • Serve as primary liaison between our business partners and software vendors to track opportunities and product enhancements and manage bug fixes.
  • Stay up to date on Seaware features and new releases and document use cases for introducing those features to our organization. Work with internal stakeholders to help them create User Acceptance Tests to validate system functionality.
  • Manage and maintain application permissions, including user roles and permissions within Seaware, and perform regular audits of system permissions to ensure the users are within compliance.
  • NOTE: This role will occasionally need to be available for after-hours support in case of last-minute requests or emergency response.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of experience using the Seaware reservations platform
  • Business Analyst experience, specifically, the ability to detail a software system and how it functions, the creation and execution of test cases, and the ability to train others.
  • Experience managing communications with outside sources in relation to the integrations of the reservation platform
  • Strong attention to detail and consistent delivery of quality results
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to communicate complex analytical concepts to various audiences and document processes
  • The ability to be proactive and work independently, as well as with others in a team environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Understanding of Seaware business rules, interfaces, and integrations
  • Solid understanding of operational and analytical reporting requirements
  • Basic understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process and methodology

COMPENSATION STATEMENT

Lindblad Expeditions determines the pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data. We evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company. Our posted salary range is based on national data and may be refined for a candidate’s region/town/cost of living.

For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant’s location, level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
