Job Description
Operations & Technology (O&T) is a $1.5B operating cash flow ($2.0B FCF) division of NBCUniversal. The group functions as a global shared service within NBCUniversal performing critical functions including Media, Broadcast and Studio Operations & Production, Information Technology and Engineering, as well as Cyber Security.
The group operates from numerous locations around the world, including New York, New Jersey, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and London. O&T is the backbone of businesses like Telemundo, Universal Studios (Film and TV Production), Rockefeller Center, and our new Assembly Studios in Atlanta.
The Senior Accountant is an integral part of the Operations & Technology (O&T) Accounting team, reporting to the Director of Accounting.
This person will have the opportunity to drive effective change and efficient processes for O&T’s UK entity, our lighting manufacturing company, and our brand new Atlanta Assembly studio while fostering global business partnerships throughout NBCUniversal.
Responsibilities
Key operational accountant for O&T’s wholly owned lighting manufacturing company
Own the cash, audit, and analysis procedures for O&T’s UK entity Execute monthly inventory and COGS accounting in partnership with O&T Finance for NBCU’s new Atlanta Assembly facility
Manage the setup and continuous accounting for finance leases ensuring compliance with ASC 842 and participate in the upcoming system implementation
Preparation and review of journal entries and analysis of general ledger and financial statements, often in partnership with NBCU’s shared services team
Coordinate with business partners and properly account for intercompany and intracompany activities
Responsible for the coordination and execution of monthly/quarterly close deliverables
Prepare and review account reconciliations on a monthly/quarterly basis and in accordance with NBCU Account Reconciliation policy Monitor O&T’s multiple bank accounts and partner with cash clearing team on receipt investigations
Complete ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and other special projects for all departments.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent
2+ years of relevant experience with Controllership and Accounting functions
Proficient with MS Office Suite products – particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word Desired
Qualifications
Demonstrates problem-solving ability & able to identify issues and make recommendations with solutions
Ability to work and communicate effectively and consistently with all levels of finance, operations, and senior management
Demonstrates background and knowledge of US GAAP and SOX CPA a plus
Excellent time management and organizational skills, ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional attention to detail and willingness to take initiative as a self-starter Team player who exhibits a positive and professional attitude
Experience with SAP/AOE/BPC or other financial systems preferred
This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

Salary Range- $70,000-$95,000.
