Position Summary
This position will be a lead contributor to the continued development of the voice of the brand across all brand marketing materials ensuring consistency and telling great stories for the consumers to engage with our products. They will collaborate closely with designers, Brand and Creative Teams, Marketing, Sales, Executives, and cross-functional teams across the organization. Projects consistent of packaging copy, brand documents, go-to-market messaging, integrated campaigns, e-commerce product copy and other copy needs across the various touch points of the business. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of writing for a consumer-based audience that is focused on parents and mothers.
What You’ll Do
Munchkin is seeking a top-tier candidate for a Temporary Copywriter role. The Temporary Copywriter will be a lead contributor to the continued development of the voice of the brand across all brand marketing materials ensuring consistency and telling great stories for the consumers to engage with our products. They will collaborate closely with designers, Brand and Creative Teams, Marketing, Sales, Executives, and cross-functional teams across the organization. Projects consistent with packaging copy, brand documents, go-to-market messaging, integrated campaigns, e-commerce product copy, and other copy needs across the various touch points of the business. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of writing for a consumer-based audience that is focused on parents and mothers. They will need to bring a high level of organization and structure, strategy, story-telling, writing techniques, and personality to the Munchkin brand voice globally.
- Contribute to the global scale of the department
- Write engaging and persuasive headlines, product descriptions, and collateral for all consumer communications
- Communicate complex instructional data (when needed) clearly and compellingly to our target audiences
- Develop compelling copy that differentiates the consumer brand and stays true to the brand voice and attributes: Modern, Clever, and Innovative
- Ensure copy is right for our customers and helps to aggressively drive key initiatives
- Create concepts that are extendable into campaigns and synchronize extensions across other collateral
- Interpret and adapt all information provided for each initiative, including creative briefs and other supporting documents
- Have an in-depth understanding of industry marketing strategy and business principle
- Strategically and effectively communicates key messages, benefits, and details in alignment with creative briefs, and support of broader brand and business objectives
- Takes ownership of projects from start to finish, including flagging and addressing issues before execution, and working with the design team to review copy in situ before internal presentations and within final designs

Bring It!
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with an English/Journalism focus
- 3-5 minimum years of copywriting experience in both print and web, with an emphasis on CPG branding
- Digital portfolio demonstrating strategic and creative strength
- English proficiency and excellent grammatical, writing, and editorial skills
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of CPG advertising techniques and marketing principles
- Ability to understand technical content and quickly learn new material
- Flexibility and resilience, including the ability to adapt to changing/uncertain conditions
- Solid understanding of consumers’ interaction with various media, and strength in adjusting language based on medium
- Ability to react quickly to changing priorities with a consistent sense of urgency
- Keep abreast of industry best practices and trends in marketing copywriting, continuously evolving your skills to stay at the forefront of your craft
- Experience implementing learnings from digital metrics (email open rates, conversion, A/B testing, etc.) a plus
- Excellent writing skills and a keen eye for detail, meticulously editing, proofreading, and fact-checking all copies to ensure accuracy, proper grammar, and consistent messaging
- Excellent communication skills, consistently providing updates on progress to internal teams on numerous, simultaneous projects
- Desire to learn and grow in the ever-changing digital marketing space

Pay rate: $40-60/hr (DOE)
This position will work in our beautiful corporate office. Munchkin’s Hybrid Schedule allows employees to work in the office on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with remote work on Tuesday and Friday.
