Role Summary:

Saks is seeking an experienced, self-driven full-stack web developer to join our Client Applications Team. This team is responsible for delivering custom solutions for customer-facing experiences powered by the Salesforce Commerce Cloud platform.

On this team you will be responsible for designing and building robust, scalable, and secure solutions with a focus on building custom reusable web components, data integrations, and solving technical challenges for multiple business units. You will work on a cross-functional team that addresses strategic business initiatives for Saks’ E-Commerce business.

We are looking for developers who are passionate about identifying the best strategies and tools to deliver great customer experiences efficiently while striving for operational excellence. Join our team and help define the architecture that will power Saks for years to come.

Key Qualifications:

  • 8+ years’ of experience performing relevant engineering job functions, preferably in the E-Commerce space.

  • Proficiency with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

  • Experience in architecture/design and implementing well-tested, high-performance, highly scalable, customer-facing websites and applications. 

  • Experience with GitHub, CI/CD, and automated testing tools and best practices.

  • Experience developing within a service-oriented architecture, building applications that can talk to multiple connected applications via APIs, event streams, etc.

  • Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) development experience, including experience customizing and extending SFCC capabilities.

  • Understand how SFCC cartridges, system objects, controllers, pdict, SFCC libraries and functions work and how to build and extend them.

  • Understand how ISML templates, includes, remote includes, and cartridges work; should be able to create, modify, and troubleshoot all of these things

  • Demonstrated Data-driven decision-making and quantitative analysis skills, including deep knowledge of statistical analysis, Excel, SQL, and/or other analytical techniques

  • Understanding of data and system integration tools, methods and platforms.

  • Able to refactor code and can troubleshoot issues with existing code.

  • Ability to work independently, with minimal assistance.

  • Adaptable learner, open to learning new technologies, patterns, and tools.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Java/Kotlin, Spring, and SQL is highly desirable.

  • Experience with routine Salesforce administration (Object Model, Sharing Rules, Validation Rules, etc.)

  • Experience working with headless commerce architectures, preferably with Salesforce.

  • Evaluate and articulate technical trade-offs to help drive business decisions and build the right solutions.

  • Dive deep into the system/application and help business stakeholders resolve critical issues when needed.

  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies that will improve the current customer experience at Saks.
