Job Description

As a Systems Integration Engineer, you will work in a multidisciplinary environment with a background in electrical and embedded systems, mechatronics, computer vision, robotics, and AI where you will liaise with our software organization to align and integrate our various hardware platforms. 

You will actively participate in the brainstorming and design of new ideas and technologies with the Prototyping Engineering team and be responsible for their validation.

In this role, you will:

  • Work with Software, and Electrical engineers to help define and meet customer/system requirements of hardware/software
  • Work with Mechanical Design, Harness, and Test engineers to come up with novel methods of hardware integration and test setups
  • Develop and perform detailed test and validation plans, schedules, and procedures for developmental testing and validation
  • Analyze validation test data to determine whether systems or processes have met validation criteria or to identify root causes
  • Provide laboratory support for integration testing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar with 8+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Fluent in Electrical/Embedded Systems Design and schematics
  • Experience in test scripting and data analysis languages with quality assurance (preferably C/C++/Python)
  • Understanding of mechanics and physics
  • Experience interfacing with CAN and LIN-based systems and logs using tools such as CANalyzer, CANape

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with multi-disciplinary control system (e.g., robot) architecture
  • Strong understanding of automotive hardware and software concepts and development processes

Compensation

There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $141,000 to $229,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate’s relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
