There’s no doubt that recruiting trends have changed recently. 2021 and 2022 have truly been a candidate-dominated market. This year we’ve seen fewer job openings, stagnant salaries, and downsizing. The situation is not dire, and talented legal candidates are still very marketable, but the landscape is very different than in past years. The recruiters who will navigate the next 12 months effectively are those who have built (and continue to build) strong relationships with candidates and clients over time. It will be very difficult for “transactional” recruiters.
